What is a WhatsApp group link

A WhatsApp group link is just a url that you can use to join a WhatsApp group if you are authorized to join or if you are invited to join.

So that url enables you to join WhatsApp group automatically.

This is now different from what we used to do inorder to make a whatsapp group full with participants

At first we used to add people from address book or contacts list.

So if you were to add someone who was not in your contacts list you would have to add them to the contact list first then add them to the group.

But nowadays it's now improved from WhatsApp Inc.

If you need someone to join your group you just give them your group invite link. But how to get the link?

In your group click on the three dots on your upper right corner, click on "group info" then after that you will see your group subject, profile picture and description.

Just scroll down a little bit you will see a green button that is labled invite via link, click on it and you will see the following options

send link via WhatsApp

copy link

share link

qr code

reset link

If you choose send link via WhatsApp you will be directed to share to five (5) of your contacts or groups.

If you choose the 'copy link' option then the link will be copied to your keyboard's clipboard.

So this means you will be able to paste the link wherever you want to share it, this way you can paste only.

If you chose the 'share link' option this will enable you to share your link to any of your apps in your phone that are able to share the link.

If you choose the 'qr code' option then you will be given something that looks like a picture in black and white color.

And also you can take a screenshot of it and share it with those who you want to join your group, they do not just download the image and join no.

What they have to do is that they download the picture afterwards they scan the qr code on the picture and it will show the group name, profile picture, number of participants as well as the 'join' button.

If you click on the reset link button this way you will revoke the link that is already assigned to your WhatsApp group and automatically generate a new one.

In addition this works when you don't want anyone to join your group you just reset the link and not sharing the new one so no one can find your now link unless you share it with someone.
