How to use a mobile hotspot on your Android smartphone to share your internet connection?
In this post, I'm going to show you how you can use your mobile hotspot so that you can share your internet connection.
It is very easy and you can share your hotspot from Wi-Fi and even from Wi-Fi to hotspot.
This can be done in many different ways but in this post, I'm going to show you the easiest to worry to do it.
Mobile hotspot is so important when it comes to sharing internet connection.
Because sometimes you might have a mobile phone with internet data and you want to use that data on your laptop but you don't have a modem.
This is where a mobile hotspot becomes important because it's the one that can do that job.
Almost all mobile phones come with an inbuilt hotspot and you don't have to install it since it's a mobile function.
What you just have to do is to know where to locate the mobile hotspot options and settings.
Because the location may be a little bit different depending on the type of device you are using.
But it is guaranteed that all Android devices come with this feature.
Android AP Hotspot
Android AP hotspot is used to tether internet connection from one device to another.
This means if one device does not have an internet connection and the other one has it they can share.

Now we need to get into detail on how you can turn on your mobile hotspot and how you can use it.

Turning On Your Hotspot
Turning on your mobile hotspot is very easy depending on the Android version you are using.

Click on the settings icon and type in hotspot and you will see the Mobile HotSpot settings.

Once you've entered your mobile settings you will see a search bar on top that is if you are using Android 10 or better.
No you may need to type in the word hotspot and you will see a bunch of options just click the first one.
Now you need to click on hotspot and tethering and then you will be able to see all the hotspot options, including turning it on.
If your mobile phone does not allow you to search for settings you can go to settings then go to network and internet click on Wifi hotspot then turn it on.
Change Hotspot Name
You can also change the name of your hotspot, what you just have to do is locate the hotspot settings.
In order to reach where you can edit your hotspot, you need to follow the first step above.
Or you can just scroll up and you will see how to turn on your hotspot then you will see how you can reach your HotSpot settings.
Once you entered your HotSpot settings you will see an option that says hotspot name.
Click on it and enter your hotspot name then after that click on the save or ok button.
This is how you can change your hotspot name and you can tell that it is very easy.
But still, there's a lot you want to know about your mobile hotspot on Android devices.
Change Security Type
You can choose to secure your mobile hotspot or to leave it open so that people can just connect without a password.
However, if you choose to secure your mobile hotspot you need to enter a password.
That password is required when you need to connect to your mobile hotspot or if someone wants to connect to it.
But if you choose to leave it is open this means you or anyone can just connect to your mobile hotspot without being asked for a password.
On your mobile hotspot settings panel, just a click on security then choose either WPA2 or None.
If you choose WPA2 you need to check out the password in the password section, it is generated automatically.
If you choose none it means you will not need any password for your mobile hotspot.
Android Hotspot Password
Android hotspot password is so much important to make your hotspot even more secure.
You should always consider checking who is connected to your mobile hotspot if it doesn't have a password.
And even though it is password protected you can also check who is using it because nowadays people use different software.
Some of the software is can break your Android hotspot password letting someone use your data.
Not only that, the big part of it is that they can also hijack your information for connected devices.
So you need to make sure that you set up your Android hotspot password and it should be strong.
Because if you use passwords like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 someone may just guess this password and they are easy to break.

Change Hotspot Password
You may need to set up a memorable password that you can use to connect to your mobile hotspot.
Once you set up your hotspot security you will have a strong password that is generated automatically.
However, this might not be your choice, you may need to enter your own password and it is very easy.
On our main hotspot settings panel just click on Hotspot password and enter your desired password.
It is recommended to use strong passwords in order to make your mobile hotspot secure.
Even if you forget your Hotspot password you can just go back there and click on what sport password and then you will see it.
So this means you don't need to memorize it since you will be able to see it anytime you want.

This is how you can use your phone as a hotspot, connecting other devices using your phone.
You can choose to turn off hotspot automatically and this will automatically turn off the hotspot if it's not working.
This is a great feature that will save your battery life and your mobile phone's performance.
Because when there is no device that is connected to your hotspot it will just turn off.
This feature can be found in the main HotSpot settings panel and be sure to turn it on.

- Check that the connecting device's Wi-Fi is working properly
- Make sure that you have an active internet connection
- Make sure that you are not connected to a VPN
- Make sure that you are using the correct SIM card for data connection
- Make sure that you can access the internet on your phone with a hotspot
